Flying in a glider is playing with the forces of nature, piloting a light but efficient aircraft, experiencing unique sensations:
– the extraordinary pleasure of flying;
– the rare feeling of slipping silently and safely through the air;
– a sense of total freedom and peace, moving in total harmony with nature.
Glider flying is a sport reserved for passionate pilots, to be practised without moderation, be it for pleasure flights, aerobatics or competition gliding.

Aerology is the science governing the characteristics and the potential of the atmosphere. A good glider pilot has studied this science, and knows how to make the most of the weather conditions. Although one can glide all over France, some regions do not benefit from the same natural advantages.
Mountain aerology, which is so unique, provides a pilot with a huge potential of gliding possibilities. The combination of the sun and the wind in Provence creates meteorological conditions the the Southern Alps that are particularly favourable to gliding. These conditions are internationally reknowned, and attract glider pilots from all over the world.
